The Forest Interpretive Centre located 8 km southwest of Fisher Branch at Broad Valley is one of the Wildlife Management Areas in the province. With more than 4,100 hectares comprised of lush aspen forest & dotted with numerous wetlands Otter Lake is part of this area that provides staging habitat for waterfowl, pelicans, and shorebirds. The aspen forest is productive ruffed grouse habitat and fills with songbirds in spring and summer. White-tailed deer and elk make significant use of the WMA in winter.
